Description: Renowned lecturer and Auschwitz survivor Renee Firestone will speak at the Main Library on August 19 at 2:00 p.m. to commemorate the opening of Fighting the Fires of Hate: America and the Nazi Book Burnings, a traveling exhibition from the U.S. National Holocaust Memorial Museum. Ms. Firestone will speak about the exhibition and her experiences as a Holocaust survivor. A reception will follow in the Library's community room. Fighting the Fires of Hate: America and the Nazi Book Burnings focuses on how the book burnings became a potent symbol during World War II in America’s battle against Nazism. View the exhibition at the Main Library in downtown Albuquerque, 501 Copper NW, from August 14, 2006 through October 7, 2006 during the library’s hours of operation. Free and open to the public.
